How to fix scratch disk full error in Adobe Photoshop CC || 2020 

What is scratch disk ?

but before scratch disk, It is important to discus about Virtual memory !

Virtual memory is created by windows in your hard drive. 

And why is it created?. When you start any software in your windows your hard drive light blinks and at that moment it is read from your hard drive and loaded into your RAM ram is volatile memory. So files exists only in ram till the system is powered on. And than your computer reads your data from its ram and then provide to you. Now when ram capacity is full loaded it doesn't matter if you have a lot of ram. it doesn't mean it will not be fully filled, Ram is fully utilized whenever you do multitasking and use many software , than definitely ram will run  out whenever ram runs out so what does window do is it allocates  space some on your hard drive which is called Virtual Memory.

That allocated space works same as ram but offcourse it will slow. So just like windows maintains Virtual memory. Adobe Softwares also works like that specially Photoshop etc, They create their own Virtual memory and it's called Scratch disk.

So Whenever you see this error of Scratch disk is Full?

1. Launch Photoshop on your computer. And then.

2. During launch of Adobe Photoshop  hold down the Ctrl + Alt keys for (Windows), or Cmd + Option keys  for (macOS)  to set a new scratch disk

3. As soon as you press the keys, you will see a Scratch disk Prefrences window is appear on above of photoshop.

4. There, First scratch disk in the list has already selected in directory. At second, third and fourth disk has none.So you have set an other directory on 2nd disk. 

So now you have to press the OK button.As soon as you press the OK button, 

your Photoshop will open.
